IAM: GE Healthcare Group
Background
General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) is a global infrastructure, finance and media company employing more than 320,000 people worldwide. Its subsidiary GE Healthcare is a $17 billion unit serving patients in more than 100 countries.
Challenge
GE Healthcare has a comprehensive service system to manage the installation and maintenance of medical apparatus. The system allows a large number of engineers to share their headquarters’ technical datum on an intranet. As the number of users and their requirements grew, intranet security became a priority. GE’s IT department knew it needed to identify and manage access behavior.
Benefit
GE Healthcare deployed the SANFOR M5100-S and opted for its combined authentication method, requiring user name, password and SMS, for intranet access. In addition, GE Healthcare applied SANGFOR’s customized log-in interface function, ensuring full compliance with GE’s style for both login and logout interfaces. The solution has given GE Healthcare fast, stable and safe access interface for its maintenance engineers abroad, helping them to quickly find the medical materials they need and enhancing the company’s after-sales maintenance.
