Sangfor Technologies, a leading vendor of cyber security & cloud computing solutions, was recently listed in the Gartner 2020 Market Guide for Server Virtualization as one of the Hypervisor-Based Server Virtualization providers. IT leaders are reevaluating their approach to server virtualization, and as always, Gartner, the world’s leading research and advisory company, has risen to the occasion with their 2020 Market Guide for Server Virtualization.
Legacy servers often only use 15% of available resources, wasting resources, and require hands-on repair whenever software or hardware fails, costing even more. These issues motivated IT experts to find a way to enhance resource utilization and boost security between operating systems.
Server virtualization was found to be a great way to “break up” single physical servers into several virtual servers. Cloud hosting and edge are just a few ways server virtualization is changing the IT industry, but the evaluation of server virtualization in its entirety is the next logical step toward the IT of tomorrow.
Gartner’s research has three Key Findings:
1. Hypervisor-based virtualization of x86 server infrastructure remains the most widely used form of server virtualization technology within enterprise environments today. However, new infrastructure offerings (including HCI and IaaS) can reduce the need or ability to choose the hypervisor.
2. In 2021 and beyond, use of OS-based virtualization will continue to grow, especially for new application workloads. Application backlog will be a major inhibitor to faster adoption of containers by enterprises.
3. Cloud hosting for hypervisor-based server virtualization has rapidly emerged as an option for selected enterprise use cases (including data center consolidation and disaster recovery)
Sangfor Hyper-Converged Infrastructure
The offerings available with Sangfor’s Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI), is a mature and widely trusted product on the global market. Sangfor has been providing cutting-edge hyper-converged infrastructure using x86 servers since 2015 when they launched their HCI architecture which was the first to incorporate security all in one appliance.
Sangfor HCI has played a significant role in the hyper-converged market by helping some of the world’s most reputable companies achieve virtualization, hyper-convergence, cloud data centre, and distributed hybrid cloud. With steadily increasing deployment and recognition, Sangfor plays a significant leading role in the global hyper-converged market.
The market of hyper-convergence infrastructure is also further expanding. Not only are customers expanding from medium-sized customers to large enterprises, but application scenarios are also expanding from server virtualization, VDI, branch office scenarios to key businesses, databases, Cloud data centres and other important scenarios. More and more enterprises are beginning to reshape their IT infrastructure.
