In a bid to better protect Hong Kong’s cyber landscape, the Hong Kong Police Force established the Cyber Security Action Task Force (CSATF) on 29th February 2024 at the Hong Kong Palace Museum. Sangfor Technologies is beyond elated to be a part of the CSATF, which is a significant milestone that celebrates the collaboration between public and private institutions.
The action task force was established on the stage of the Cyber Security Professional Awards (CSPA) 2023 presentation ceremony. Distinguished figures present at the event included the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Siu Chak-Yee, the Government Chief Information Officer, Mr. Tony Wong, and the Chief Digital Officer of the Hong Kong Productivity Council, Mr. Edmond Lai.
A consortium of the world’s nine leading cyber security firms along with the Police Force, the CSATF brings together the collective expertise and diversified intelligence of both sides. By fostering the rapid exchange of cyber intelligence and facilitating the sharing of expert knowledge, the Task Force endeavors to bolster the collective capacity to tackle future cyber threats head-on.
As a member of the CSATF, Sangfor Technologies will actively support the Police Force by providing quarterly reports on the cyber threat landscape of Hong Kong. The report content includes Hong Kong’s threat landscape, advanced persistent threats (APT) and risk analysis.
The Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) will consolidate these reports from CSATF members, along with observations supplemented by police reports and cybersecurity incidents. This invaluable information will be promptly shared with local critical infrastructures, empowering them to fortify their defensive capabilities against cyber adversaries.
