International Women’s Day commemorates and honors the achievements of women, celebrating their empowerment and inspiring positivity. This annual event has been around since 1911 and stands as a reminder of what women can accomplish. This year marks the 115th milestone for the event and holds the theme of “Give To Gain”, encouraging a mindset of generosity and collaboration, while highlighting that support and community building are essential to creating opportunities for women.
The campaign strongly emphasizes the power of giving to others in several ways to create a better society, either “through donations, knowledge, resources, infrastructure, visibility, advocacy, education, training, mentoring, or time, contributing to women's advancement helps create a more supportive and interconnected world.”
Today at Sangfor, we celebrate Women’s Day by focusing on the incredible women who have paved the way for the industry to grow. Our goal is to shine a spotlight on the amazing women who have driven Sangfor Technology to expand across 25+ countries and regions globally. For now, let’s focus on how the tech industry has grown to be more inclusive over the past few years, especially in Asia.
Inspiring Diverse Innovation
Across industries, women are shattering glass ceilings with bold ambition, building a workforce that is as inclusive as it is resilient. In the tech world, this "boundary-breaking" spirit isn't just about career paths; it’s about having the courage to challenge the status quo and offer the world better, more flexible choices.
This is exactly the kind of drive we value at Sangfor. Whether it's refining enterprise infrastructure or navigating the global shift toward reliable VMware alternatives, our female experts are the ones leading the charge. They prove that innovation thrives when we stop settling for 'the way it's always been' and instead, strive to contribute and continuously evolve solutions like Sangfor HCI.
Before we dive into the stories of our own team, let’s take a look at the words of some influential women who have truly blazed the trail:
”I have very personally felt the overwhelming loneliness, self-doubt, and frustration that often come with the minority status of a woman in engineering. As much as I can help others get through or avoid those difficult stretches that I myself had to weather, I’d like to. As a bonus, the more women (and minorities) that enter and don’t leave the field, the better it all gets for everyone, including me!”
Tracy Chou Entrepreneur, software engineer, and founder and CEO of Block Party
“It takes courage… to show up as me, a woman in a field that often doesn't look like me, and in front of an audience that expects something… different. I’ve always felt like an explorer. If a path hasn't been forged or if others don’t understand, I want to be the one to blaze the trail, to understand, and to share that understanding. Because if I can do it, it opens doors for others.”
Soo Mei May Chief of AI Global Solution Specialist at Dell Technologies
“As a leader, I’m committed to driving growth and innovation for our customers and teams, while fostering the next generation—especially encouraging more young women in technology and business leadership.”
Anna Yip CEO of Singtel’s International Digital Services
Each of these women have inspired others to remain steadfast in the face of obstacles on the journey to success in the tech field. While there may be challenges along the way, women are resilient and adept enough to thrive in every situation. Now, let’s look a little closer to home and see what women at Sangfor have to say as they share what International Women’s Day means to them and their journey in the tech field.
International Women’s Day at Sangfor
As part of our International Women’s Day celebration at Sangfor, we sat down to interview some of the leading women in our company to ask them what the day means to them and what advice they would have for women in the tech field today. Let’s focus on some of the highlights of those interviews and see how we can inspire the next generation of bright young minds.
For our Recruitment Specialist, Nina Sun, International Women's Day is a reminder that women can become whoever they want to be, while achieving whatever they want through hard work and effort. Freda Jin, our Human Resource Business Partner, stated that Sangfor has expanded to more than 20 counties overseas, with several successful regional offices where women have been a driving force as sales managers and leaders.
When asked what change they would like to see in the tech field in the future, our team also had some stellar ideas for milestones. Koko Ding, our Regional Marketing Specialist, shared that she would like to see more women leading product security data, on marketing teams, and with more equitable assets to strengthen their roles. Our International Market team then ended the video with a heartfelt segment that thanked the women at our company for their contributions and inspiring work, wishing them all a wonderful International Women Day.
