About ASST Valle Olona
The Azienda Socio Sanitaria Territoriale (ASST) of Valle Olona in Italy was established in January 2016. It is now a well-established healthcare provider responding to the medical needs of up to 32 municipalities.
Most activities are carried out in the 4 hospital wards of Busto Arsizio, Gallarate, Saronno, and Somma Lombardo. Being a leading hospital facility, ASST required an IT infrastructure that could be used efficiently and effectively.

The ASST used a more traditional antivirus system that gave no guarantees regarding protection from complex attacks. There was a need to upgrade their security systems to focus on analyzing suspicious behaviors through the use of AI (Artificial Intelligence).
Sangfor proposed the use of the Endpoint Secure platform for extensive, multilayer network protection. A new approach to cybersecurity for 360-degree visibility into assets, vulnerabilities, traffic, and anomalous behavior.
The platform was combined with Sangfor’s Cyber Command – a Network Detection & Response Platform - to detect hidden threats in the network and nip security problems in the bud before they become major incidents.
The correlation between the two Sangfor products made it possible to automate security operations for the Italian healthcare organization, without the use of a security operation center. Automation of asset and inventory identification also became easier – from servers, workstations, and software to ports and vulnerable services.
Additionally, Sangfor allowed for analysis of any current and potential risks based on indicators of compromise and attack for each asset.
The facility achieved complete visibility into all security events and their evolution over time – complete with 24/7 active monitoring using an AI system.
Finally, the ASST enjoyed Sangfor’s automatic detection and response capabilities at both network and endpoint levels.
The ASST leveraged Sangfor Technologies and greatly improved its cybersecurity posture and automation in operations. The company can now effectively run without the risk of cyber threats halting processes and continue to provide healthcare for those in need.
